Don't care what the world thinks of you!

  • Are we living as if this is truly the only life we will ever live? (Heb 9:27)
  • Are we living as if there is treasure in heaven? (Matt 6:20)
“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.” Col 3:1-3
  • Don't let the little things of this passing world distract us from living for eternity!
"Is the world crucified to you? Or does it fascinate you?" ~ Leonard Ravenhill

But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world(Galatians 6:14)

In the secular world, we often hear the phrase: Career-oriented. But a child of God should be Kingdom-oriented! “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matt 6:33). Sometimes we think too much of our career, family, possessions, social status, church-status(!) etc.. Then again, we might not be looking for glory in the secular world. But we might still be trying to build a name for ourselves in the ministry.
  • Do we expect at least a tiny bit of fame in the ministry God has given us?
  • What motivates us to do what we do? Is it motivated by a love for Christ and the glory of God? Or are we pursuing our own selfish desires and going against the will of God? (Rom 12:2)
“Live for Christ and [live] to proclaim Christ to those who have not heard. Every activity should focus on God's glory and making His glory known.” ~ Paul Washer
To sum it up, let us follow John the Baptist who said “He must increase, but I must decrease.” John 3:30
